To the horror and consternation of many of his fans, Bob Dylan has released a Christmas album. Christmas in the Heart is the song and dance man’s 34th studio record. Given the fact that Dylan also horrified a good number of his fans with his fifth (“Bringing It All Back Home”: electric), ninth (“Nashville Skyline”: country), tenth (“Self Portrait”: bad), nineteenth (“Slow Train Coming”: Christian), twenty-third (“Empire Burlesque”: very eighties, and very bad), and twenty-eighth (“Good As I Been To You”: all covers) albums — to name a few — we’re going to reserve judgment until we’ve had a chance to listen.

Truth is, this video makes us very hopeful:
